Accessed from Inventory Maintenance via the Utilities Menu
Units Of Measure (UOM) are the measurement to which ever Item within the system relates. This maintenance options creates the definition of the UOMs, along with the number of decimal places each UOM can be graded to.
Each Unit (UOM) can be set with a plural, a description and the Sell, Buy and Stock format.
By setting the format to various decimal places, dictates whether "part" of an Item may be bought or sold etc. It may be perfectly valid for "part" of a Kg - Kilogram, to be sold, but unacceptable to sell "part" of and item with a UOM of Pc - Piece.
There is also a TYPE set against each UOM. This defines whether the UOM is a Length, Time, Unit, Volume or Weight.
Addition, Revision and Deletion of UOMs are controlled through this mechanism
