The Wiltshire Air Ambulance has one mission and that is to save lives. However, to operate as a dedicated air ambulance means they must raise £3.25m a year. In addition to their running costs, this lifesaving charity are currently trying to raise funds to build a new, custom-built airbase in Melksham. Their new home will bring together the helicopter, crew and charity team in one location and allow the helicopter to reach all parts of the county within 11 minutes.
To help keep them flying and saving lives, Openda has pledged to support them by taking part in the Wiltshire Air Ambulance 500 Corporate Challenge. What does this mean? Well, we have been given £50 and tasked with turning it into £500 by the end of October, by whatever means possible (legal of course!). In order to do this, 3 of the Openda Team have signed up for the Monster Race on Sat 30 September, with just 2 weeks to prepare….
The Monster Race (www.monsterrace.co.uk) is a 5K obstacle course through mud and water where we will be Climbing, Wading, Sliding, Carrying and Heaving ourselves around the course to hopefully make it across the finish line in one piece, if not rather wet and muddy!
The team are being joined by their children, ranging in ages from 5 to 10 who are all going to show us how it’s done on the Junior Obstacle Course first.
We really hope that you can support us to achieve our goal of raising £500, as every penny counts to help build the new Wiltshire Air Ambulance base in Melksham. You can also show your support by joining us on the day and cheering us on!
