As well as the necessity for strict traceability and certification that such industries demand.

Vemco Brasscapri Limited is a major distributor to all the Plumbers and Builders Merchants throughout the UK and provides a "One Stop Shop"concept with a product range of over 10,000 pieces.
Vemco's headquarters is based in Wellington, Somerset using a purpose built warehouse with current facilities of 45,000 sq ft. It has two satellite offices one at Glasgow 3,700 sq ft and the other in Belfast with storage space of 3,500 sq ft. The Company is very strongly marketing orientated with a full Price Catalogue, Bathroom Catalogue and bi-monthly Trader publications.
In order to integrate a full supply chain and accounting package to cope with the diversities of the Company's business and having already worked with Nick Bell on and around our previous system we joined with Openda in the development stages.
We live in a very electronic age which is forever changing. Openda has over the past 3 years supplied us with the tools to control and progress the Company in all aspects of our business. Being a fully integrated package it has proven to be flexible with good control mechanisms to handle high volumes, special features that ensure we manage and achieve results through the automated handling of complex pricing.
The system has proven to be fully secure and expandable and other than physical activities has become critical to the running of our business. All employees at every level are required to use the system in one form or another which demonstrates its user friendly aspects. Quite unusually for a brand new system we hit Company output records within days of the implementation.
The very nature of our supply chain business requires us to move high volumes of product at low values covering a wide range of some 10,000 different items. It is paramount that being in a commodity market stocks are always available and delivered quickly. Openda was instrumental in enabling us to meet these requirements.
